Leadership North Carolina Gives Back to CIS Wake
10/01/2006
Recently, alumni and classmates from Leadership North Carolina joined together with children from the Mayview housing community to replant a community flower garden.
Susan B. Hansell, Executive Director of CIS Wake and an alumnus of Leadership North Carolina appreciated the attendees for making time on a Saturday morning to give back to the community. She said, “This type of community action and involvement is central to the core values of Leadership North Carolina and CIS Wake's work with at-risk students across Wake County."
Like all gardens, the beauty of the flowers planted at Mayview will take an investment of time and caring in order to fully blossom. So too it can be said that volunteering with CIS Wake’s students also takes time and caring; often resulting in students reaching their potential, graduating from high school, and achieving success in life.
CIS Wake would like to thank Leadership North Carolina and its alumni for volunteering and brightening one of the communties where CIS Wake operates.
