JordanBuilt Helps CIS Wake Launch Lots for Learning!

04/16/2007

Triangle homebuilder JordanBuilt is partnering with Communities In Schools of Wake County to ensure the academic success of at-risk youth.

JordanBuilt has launched the Lots for Learning® program, in which the company will donate $100 from the sale of each JordanBuilt home to CIS Wake. The organization in turn uses these funds to develop and implement programs to help ensure that local at-risk youth succeed in and outside the classroom.

Mike Jordan, president of JordanBuilt, hopes the program will grow to include other area builders.

“I believe that every child should have access to a good education and the necessary tools to excel in life,” said Mike Jordan, president, JordanBuilt.  “Communities In Schools of Wake County has done a tremendous job of assisting at-risk students.  JordanBuilt is excited about partnering with CIS Wake to help with financial contributions, personally volunteer, and encourage our subcontractors and building partners to invest.”

CIS Wake President Susan Hansell said the organization benefits from the Lots for Learning® initiative.

“We are extremely pleased with this creative partnership with JordanBuilt,” said Hansell.  “For almost 1,000 Wake County students, many who live in poverty and could not otherwise afford private tutoring, CIS Wake provides tutorial assistance and an adult role model.. This tremendous support from JordanBuilt will help ensure that we continue to help address the needs of these students.”

Communities In Schools of Wake County is seeking more developers / builders, real estate agents and mortgage lenders to join JordanBuilt as a Lots for Learning® partner. Lots for Learning® offers a unique way for these companies and professionals to give back to the community and support the effort to help economically and academically at-risk youth succeed in school and life.

“As our companies and real estate professionals prosper, by supporting a program like Lots for Learning®, so too will the children served by Communities In Schools of Wake County,” said Jordan.  “I see this as a wise investment in Wake County’s future, and more importantly, for the young people we are reaching.”
