A student works hard to maintain a C average so he can remain on the high school football team. Keeping his place on the team gives him motivation to succeed in class and the Communities in Schools of Wake County learning center provides him with academic support and encouragement.
A teenage girl has feelings of anger and is afraid she might hurt herself or someone else. She can't share these feelings with anyone at school for fear of being suspended; but she does confide in the Communities In Schools of Wake County program coordinator and gets the help she needs.
A young man's mother punishes him by forbidding him to sleep in his bed, take a shower, or have any breakfast; and the young man is too ashamed to go to school the next morning. He confides this to the Communities In Schools of Wake County program coordinator through writings in his Communities In Schools of Wake County journal and gets help.
Communities In Schools of Wake County provides support, encouragement, motivation, and resources to help these students. Led by caring educators, Communities In Schools of Wake County's children and youth can overcome many of the challenges they face everyday to discover their passion for learning and clear purpose for education.
